What is the JLF Community Advisory Board? According to JLF policies and procedures, the Community Advisory Board (CAB) will serve to make recommendations to the Junior League of Florence through consultation and guidance in order to assist them in their desire to foster interest in the social, economic, educational, cultural, and civic conditions of the Florence community and help deliver the Junior League of Florence mission to the community. Members of the CAB, which represent a diverse cross-section of Florence County, meet two to three times a year over dinner or lunch. During the meetings, CAB members are briefed on current JLF activities and are invited to comment on pressing community issues and needs. CAB members are often JLF's "eyes and ears" regarding new and changing community needs, and help open doors to new partnerships. For example, our recent work with the Boys and Girls Club stemmed largely from the recommendations of the CAB. CAB members are constantly looking for ways for JLF to have a greater impact on our community and provide JLF with speaking and service opportunities as well. Members of the CAB truly help keep JLF focused on our mission and also provide us with strategic guidance. We are eternally thankful for our CAB.
